New iPhones are out

IPhones are out and are selling like no tomorrow. Apple announced record-breaking iPhone launch weekend sales of nine million units. Apple hasn't announced the exact amount sold for each type of phone but analytics firm Localytics has shared some data on usage. Within their finds they found that among U.S. users the iPhone 5s is being sold 3.4 times more than the iPhone 5c.

Looking at this data there are a few reasons being considered as to why the cheaper colorful phone is not selling as well.

  1. most iPhone buyers are wanting to spend top dollar for the best phone out there. They don't want cheap plastic.
  2. The people that want the cheaper iPhone 5c don't want to buy full out a new phone mid-contract and plan to wait till their phone plan allows for an upgrade.
  3. During this launch weekend most of the people that waited for hours in line for a iPhone wanted to get the best for the best and not settle for the cheaper iPhone 5c.
At the end of the day though with iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sales topping nine million in launch weekend this is a great start to a new product from Apple.
